Boarding FAQs
WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES DO YOU OFFER FOR BOARDING?
If you choose, your pup can enjoy the benefits of daycare during their stay. If not, don’t worry, you can add on one-on-one play time with a staff member (cuddle time, play time, walking adventures and more). Each furry friend that spends the night will automatically enjoy multiple outdoor breaks for bathroom needs, running off some energy, and exploring.
WHY IS BOARDING AT PINNACLE BETTER?
Pinnacle Pets was designed to care for your pups like we would care for our own. That means our standards are higher than what you’ll find anywhere else!
- A human attendant stays with the dogs 24/7, 365. Our building always has caretakers available for your dog’s needs.
- Communication is important – you will receive detailed reports every evening regarding your dog’s daily activities, feeding and medication logs, and personal notes from the staff that interacts with them. Don’t worry, you’ll get tons of pictures too!!! Our goal is to make you feel as comfortable with your dog’s care as they are!
- Minimum of three potty breaks in an enclosed play yard. They will be off-leash (unless otherwise instructed) and can enjoy exploring, playing, and cuddling with our staff.
- Our staff is trained in dog body language and behavior and will always work hard to make your pup feel comfortable.
- We know each furry friend is an individual. We make sure to get to know them so we can ease them into the boarding experience, make sure they are eating and comfortable, and cater their stay to their needs.
- We use non-toxic veterinary-grade cleaning supplies, have air cleaners, and spend most of our spare time cleaning EVERYTHING to ensure our space is clean, healthy, and safe.
SHOULD I BRING ANYTHING WITH MY DOG FOR BOARDING
We provide our guests with up to three meals a day per your instructions. We recommend you bring the food your pup typically eats so we don’t change their diet. Please proportion your pup’s food. Due to storage limitations, please do not bring large bags of food or storage containers.
WHEN ARE YOUR PEAK BOARDING TIMES?
HOW DOES IT AFFECT ME?
Peak time is any holiday timeframe in which we will be paying our team overtime and pulling them away from their families during prime times. Due to the fact that our rooms will be full, we have to be a bit more strict to maintain organization and ensure rooms are available for everyone.
Peak Times:
- New Years
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
What this means for you:
- If you are a regular Day Boarding guest, please be advised that there will be VERY limited rooms available during peak times. Please feel free to call us if you need help with arrangements.
- The 3-day span around holidays will have an additional $5/night charge. We increase our team’s pay rate during these holidays to compensate for their time away from family and appreciate your understanding.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
CAN I STOP IN FOR A TOUR?
Absolutely! You don’t need an appointment, we’re happy to show you around anytime! Come on in!
FREE ORIENTATION DAY!
Nervous about trying a boarding facility? Have an anxious dog??
We WANT your dog to visit us for free before a stay!
Your pet gets to settle into the new environment for a few hours and then gets to understand that you are coming back for them! This experience is invaluable before a longer stay, so we offer it for FREE.
Call to schedule your “Orientation Day” to try us out!
*Monday-Thursday with flexible drop off and pick up times during business hours.
GENERAL HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION
We require the Bordetella and CIV vaccines, in addition to Rabies, DAP and a fecal test in order to keep your pet as protected as possible in an environment where there are a lot of other dogs around. Even if your pup is not directly interacting with others during their visit, just like human germ transmission, most bugs are passed through the shared air. We have the highest regard for your pet’s health and safety and employ unmatched cleaning and sanitation standards, even having air scrubbers that work constantly in our building.
However, please be aware that there are some airway infections that vaccines do not exist to prevent. These infections are typically not life-threatening but can cause coughing. If your pet develops coughing, please call your veterinarian to determine if treatment is needed.
Having your dog in a place other dogs are or have been, is similar to children going to daycare or school. Even though children are vaccinated they frequently get colds from other children. It is not possible to completely prevent germ spread but rest assured that we do everything in our power to keep a clean and healthy environment for your pet’s visit and will always be transparent about any health concerns we may have. We only want what is best for your pet.
WHAT ARE YOUR VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
Prior to boarding and/or daycare, you must provide proof of the following vaccinations from your vet:
Dogs:
- Annual Bordetella
- CIV (Canine Influenza Vaccine)
- Current Rabies
- Current DHLPP
- Annual Fecal Test Result (negative)
Cats:
- FVRCP
- Rabies
Dogs over 6 months must be spayed or neutered to participate in daycare, however, they may still be boarded at 5 months old.
For a more comprehensive list, please click here. You can contact us for additional information.
FLEA/TICK CONTROL
For the health and safety of all pets in our care, we ask that all guests be on a monthly flea and tick preventative, though we do not require proof of administration.
- Daycare: We recommend a topical flea treatment, as flea collars must be removed before playtime to ensure group safety.
- Boarding: We reserve the right to remove a flea collar if it poses a risk to your pet but will generally allow it to remain on outside of group play.
If we discover fleas or ticks on your pet, appropriate treatment will be administered at your expense.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We want to accommodate as many requests as possible and typically have a waitlist for reservations and services. Due to this and scheduling our team according to expected reservations, we request notice of cancellation with as much notice as possible.
We require a 3-day notice of cancellation prior to the scheduled arrival date for boarding reservations. A non-refundable deposit is required for all overnight boarding bookings for any cancellations less than 3 days prior to the scheduled reservation.
No-shows and late cancellations (less than 24 hours) for daycare reservations will result in the customer being responsible for the cost of the daycare day.
No-shows and late cancellations (less than 24 hrs) for scheduled grooming and training times may result in fees added to the account.
Changes to the length of the stay must be reported and modified with more than 3 days’ notice to Pinnacle Pets. Customers are financially responsible for the original reservation dates if less than 3 days’ notice has been given of the adjustment.
